The tourist season has well and truly arrived, but in a gentler way than previously. Most people are being considerate about social distancing and many restaurants are offering a take-away service to make up for the reduction in seats available. With a little forward planning there is little change. Reservations for restaurants and popular attractions are recommended. There are fewer organised events, but always lots to see and do in this exceptional area.

With autumn now installed in the Dordogne, an excellent programme on Domme, La Roque Gageac and the Chateau de Beynac reminded us all of the hot, sunny days of summer. A great introduction to the surrounding area :
Another successful heritage weekend in Domme with free entry to all the local sites. Contrary to the forecast, the sun shone on a crowd of locals and holiday makers enjoying the highlight, the theatrical tour of Domme.
Below, the wooing scene from Cyrano de Bergerac played out around the washing fountain. Thank-you for your patience. Activities and Local info to add in English. If you're feeling brave, the french language site is finished, just click on "français" above or go to oustalou.fr.

Il ne reste que la version en anglais à completer ! En attendant, n'hésitez pas a me contacter pour plus d'informations. Je vous remercie de votre compréhension.
NicoleFitting out of the loft is going well, the walls of the walk-in wardrobe went up today, so only the uprights on east and west walls to go. Flooring in back shower room down, front bathroom to go and then chase the plumber to install the sanitary ware. With the temperatures hovering around the 0°c level, thank heavens that the insulation is now in place. |
